#YearOfStitch Kick-off Workshop

REGISTER HERE

Learn how to embroider and get setup for participating in the #YearOfStitch where I teach you a new embroidery stitch each week for a year!

January 1st is the launch of the #YearOfStitch and I will be teaching everyone in my Patreon community a new embroidery stitch each week for the entire year. These will be video tutorials so you can go at your pace and skip over ones you don't like. There will be patterns for practicing, a community of support, and zoom stitch-ups throughout the year. Plus fun craftivism challenges to support you in flexing your activist muscles.

This 1.5 hour workshop will get you all set up to start embroidering and talk through how to prepare for the #YearOfStitch

Total beginner? Never picked up a needle...this is for you!

Already a stitcher but want to learn more about the #YearOfStitch and what to think about as you prepare? Be here.

January in a never-ending pandemic seems like a great time to learn a new hobby that is based in stabbing shit...am I right?!

You can join my Patreon community now and get a jump or test the waters at this workshop and see if you are inspired.

You will need to have your own materials for this workshop so here's what you will need:

  • an embroidery hoop (5-7" is usually best but any size will do)

  • a piece of light colored cotton fabric (got a tea towel or old sheets around? Use those)

  • a tapestry, chenille, or embroidery needle

  • pair of scissors

  • embroidery floss (whatever colors you like)

  • a water erasable marking pen, transfer pen, or friction pen (don't have that? don't worry we can work with pencil, chalk, ballpoint pen, whatever you got)

That's it. Should not cost more than $6 for all of it.

OR if you, like many, purchased an embroidery kit in 2020 and haven't gotten around to it yet...that will be perfect. ;) I see you.

As always, my workshops are pay-what-you-can to keep them accessible to as many people as possible.

I can't wait to stitch with you!!!!

<3 Shannon
