Simple Tray Weaving with The Chicago Weaving School

Description:

Learn to make this simple round tray. Once you know the basics, you can experiment with found materials from nature, color changes, size changes, and edge-cutting styles for endless variations of a simple theme. These make great gifts and ornaments as well.

Materials:

  • A half-pound of # 4 round reed. This will be enough for four-to-eight 6" trays.

A full pound is okay too, of course!)

  • Basket shears, pruning shears, or at least some good-ole scissors. (Kitchen shears might be a good option.)

  • A tub of warm water

  • Two clips or clothespins
