Feel like stabbing some shit? I've got you.
Join me and a dozen other amazing humans for this two-hour workshop at Chicago's newest embroidery spot, Maydel. In it, you will learn everything you need to know to stitch staggering works of genius.
I will teach you about the materials, how to get set up to stitch, working with patterns or designing your own pieces, and then we stitch. There's much to learn and it's zero-pressure and wicked fun.
You can either bring your own materials for this workshop or buy a kit with everything you need from Maydel.
If you are bringing your own, here's what you need:
an embroidery hoop (5-7" is usually best but any size will do)
a piece of light colored cotton fabric (got a tea towel or old sheets around? Use those)
a tapestry, chenille, or embroidery needle
pair of scissors
embroidery floss (whatever colors you like)
a water erasable marking pen, transfer pen, or friction pen
That said, Maydel has created a kit just for this workshop with all of your supplies. The cost of the bundle is approx $16.
Maydel is an ethically-sourced, women-owned business and I am a big fan. You can order ahead and the kit will be waiting for you at the shop. You can also come a few minutes early and shop for what you need.
