Some folks have been able to stitch their pockets without removing them. I find that challenging for my hands so I remove the pocket. You do you.

Use a seam ripper to remove the back pocket.

Decide on your message (hardest part by far). And use a water soluble marking pen to draw it onto your pocket.

Hoop your pocket. This is a 4” hoop.

Get stitching! I use an embroidery needle because they are nice and sharp but have a big eye for threading. I stitched this using backstitch.

Choose a floss to use to sew the pocket back on. Sewing thread is cool too. I wanted contrast.

Sew your pocket back on using backstitch, straight stitch, or running stitch - taking care not to sew through the front of your jeans.
