Satin Stitch
Satin stitch is my go-to filler stitch. I think this stitch is super sexy.
Sometimes I use it solo.
Sometimes I add an outline in backstitch (usually when my stitching isn’t exactly perfect and I want to cover up the mistakes) ;)
It’s a simple stitch to understand, it’s a bit of a beast to get good at.
Your goals with this stitch are:
Zero space between your stitches (which usually means disregarding the holes and poking that needle right through the weave)
The front and back should look identical
Here I used a padded satin stitch on my hand-woven fabric.
